Here are some examples of code compiled for a particular machine. In this case, the machine is a hypothetical machine 32 bit machine, as described in the Model Instruction Set. You can see the CIF file which creates a C code generator for this architecture by clicking on Compiler Code Tables. The links below will connect you to the source code for each of the C files "fft.c" and "tree.c", along with two versions of generated assembly code for each. One version shows the result of compiling using the default optimizations. The other version ("optimized code") shows the results produced by also invoking the global optimizer.
